About the Mitsubishi Lancer

The Mitsubishi Lancer is known as the family car built by Mitsubishi Motors. It consists of been referred to as a Colt Lancer, Dodge/Plymouth Colt, Chrysler Valiant Lancer, Chrysler Lancer, Eagle Summit, Hindustan Lancer, Soueast Lioncel, Mitsubishi Carisma, and Mitsubishi Mirage in a variety of countries at different times, and has now been sold just as the Galant Fortis in Japan since 2007. At the same time also been sold as Lancer Fortis in Taiwan with a different facelift in comparison to the Galant Fortis. Between its introduction in 1973 and TWO THOUSAND AND EIGHT, over six million Lancers happen to be sold.

In Australia, the Seventh sold from 1996-2004. This had been designated as you move the CE wheel of time. Similar to the previous generation, this has been to be found in a variety of body styles, which helped to cater for a more broad audience. The creation of a sporty MR coupe helped to target this model directly towards a younger audience.

The station wagon continued on just like a CE model, although it was essentially carried over by way of previous generation. This model had an unusually long model run, becoming more and more uncompetitive as time went by and quite often heavily discounted by dealers. Right at the end of its model run, Mitsubishi introduced some limited edition models (depending on GLi) to remain competitive because of its rivals, these editions featured extras such as sports interiors, alloys and the body kits off higher spec models. Generally, this generation sold well throughout its production run.

It ought to be noted that regardless of the introduction associated with the eighth generation Lancer Cedia in 2000, the CE series remained sold alongside it until mid-2004. The sedan was easily obtainable in GLi trim, until it was before finally discontinued in 2003. The coupe was facelifted as well as only available in GLi and MR trims.

Because of its appearance, affordability, along with the rise in status associated with the Lancer Evolution, this generation was quite popular with young car enthusiasts along with the aftermarket modified Japanese car scene. Some popular modifications include exhaust systems, suspension, after market stereos and replica Evolution body kits.
